Hey y’all! Somehow, as I’m looking at my planned reads for August, I’m not seeing much. I had 4 books on my list, and one of them I’ve already finished. So this month will probably end up being a bit of a mishmash of whatever I happen to pick off my shelves or get from the library. I’ve managed to up if to 6 (one complete) based on what I’m already starting this month. Let’s take a peek!

The Reasons
You’re Invited by Amanda Jayatissa: already finished! I got a BOTM copy secondhand but still before the publish date next week (8/9/22), and WOW was it way better than I expected. This one is already done!
No Ordinary Thursday by Anoop Judge: as I mentioned in my post earlier this week, this was a July pick from Amazon First Reads that I’ve actually been really enjoying! Here’s hoping it continues to be decent.
The Candid Life of Meena Dave by Namrata Patel: actually another Amazon First Read pick, and another that’s going fairly well. This one I’m reading for part of the Amazon Kindle reading challenge for the summer, but I had picked it out prior anyway.
The North Wind by Alexandria Warwick: I bought a really gorgeous copy of this a month or so ago, and am finally starting it. I looked at my shelves today and though, I want a chunky book that’s a bit dark and some fantasy to it. This one is perfect for that. ^.^
The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo: I just heard about this one recently from another blogger, Foxes and Fairy Tales. It sounded fascinating about posthumous brides and this one who slips into the afterlife world of ghosts and shit and just AWESOME.
Happyish by Jeanette Escudero: this one’s an ARC of a book publishing in September (9/20) of a woman with a brain tumor and a grim prognosis who lives big to make the most of her remaining time.

The Ghost Bride is a book I’ve been meaning to read for ages! Hopefully we’ll both enjoy it when we get to it. 🙂

Oh, that could be fun, I’d be up for a shared read! I don’t have any timeframe for when to read it (other than “soon”) so if you ping me when you start I can pick it up somewhere around the same time.
