A Picture’s Worth: Matchmaking & Other Magic

Words have always carried more weight with me than images – give me a book over its movie any day – but I do love to see the beautiful images other people create when they’re in love with a book. That’s not my strength, but I can certainly appreciate it in others! So here’s a few of my faves based on what I’ve been reading recently.

The Matchmaker’s List

I’ve been slogging my way through this one slowly for a couple weeks now, when I have nothing better available to read. I just finished it and I’m still pretty “meh” about it, but at least it’s done with now! And as always, tons of people made really lovely photos with it.

Ahh, the infamous list that started it all! I love the representation. ☺

I feel like its a good coffee-shop read.

Paired with treats almost as tasty looking as the ones described in the book.

Proof that most things look better with a pink and purple geometric elephant.

Serpent & Dove

OKAY. I’m way behind the times as far as it goes with finally reading this book, BUT I’m quite enjoying it! I don’t think it’s blowing me away as much as it has other people, but the ending seems to be ramping up so hopefully that’ll explain to me why it’s become such a popular book. It’s obvious that part of that reason is the simply gorgeous cover. At the moment there are 8,817 posts on instagram tagged #serpentanddove, which is INSANE. Here are some of my favs!!

This book was MADE for color matching.

It’s actually a video, but I love the thumbnail shot. I’ll have to come back to watch it once I finish the book! But maybe I won’t, and I’ll just keep the sequel a surprise…

LOVE how witchy this is! I saw another post with someone who used makeup to make it look like they slashed their hand like the Dames Rouge do, but that was a bit much for me. xD This is much more my speed.

Must be nice to have a pet who perfectly matches your cover

Gotta keep reading!!

I’m almost finished with Serpent and Dove, so I can’t wait to wrap it up and join the hype. So far I expected to read the sequel. Other than that, I’m working on my backlist reads a bit, so hopefully that means there will be plenty of photos made for them to use in the future. 😊
