In contrast to Throwback Thursday, I’m using Fast-Forward Friday to drool over books that I’m waiting on to come out! I was actually pretty resistant to even looking at what this one was about for a while, but I’ve since come around to the idea of Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed. Why the change? Wellllll….
Why wait on this one?
- I don’t think I’ve ever read a young adult story focused around political canvassing. It’s a truly unique subject matter, and if they can do it well, it will be one of a kind! Plus, what a reflection of how involved young adults are in politics in the past years.
- I always love a main character with a lifestyle different from mine, and since Maya is Muslim, I know I’ll learn a few things.
- I’m judging it by the cover (and title), but hear me out: I’m judging the cleverness in them as a sign of the authors’ careful attention to language and details. Did you see that the cover looks to tell the whole story? The name working on the relationship and canvassing level? The more I think about it, the more I love it.
