Just a quick note, here. I have only just read Brigid Kemmerer’s A Curse So Dark and Lonely. And yes, I know I’m way behind the times here. But I’m thinking I might actually be the lucky one here, because now I don’t have to wait for the second book to come out since it already is!
WOW, do I ever understand why this book was talked about so much! I tend to stay away from books that get a lot of hype until it dies down a little bit, because often I’m disappointed if I don’t like it as much as the buzz made me think I would. I should have known better for this one, though, because it’s BRIGID KEMMERER, and she wouldn’t disappoint. I think all the framing of the book as a retelling of Beauty and the Beast is not doing it any justice though, as that is a gross oversimplification for the world she built!
