In contrast to Throwback Thursday, I’m using Fast-Forward Friday to drool over books that I’m waiting on to come out! I can’t much resist genre-bending scifi writers with a wry and clever main character, and that’s 100% what I expect from Highfire.
Why wait on this one?
- There is a delightfully bizarre cast of characters awaiting in these pages, and while it could end up being forced and overwhelming, it could also be perfectly balanced and hilarious – which is what I’m counting on!
- It’s by Eoin Colfer, which already sets me up with high expectations from his past works.
- How can I not root for a dragon? Especially an unusual characterization of a dragon who watches Netflix and enjoys vodka? He’s like a generic deadbeat… but as a dragon.
- The setting in the swamps of Louisiana is not one I’ve seen often, so I’d love to get a story set somewhere new!
