A Picture’s Worth: Curses and Gaming

Words have always carried more weight with me than images – give me a book over its movie any day – but I do love to see the beautiful images other people create when they’re in love with a book. That’s not my strength, but I can certainly appreciate it in others! So here’s a few of my faves based on what I’ve been reading recently.

Don’t Date Rosa Santos

I saw this on Hoopla over the summer and had it earmarked for when I was looking for a quickly available light read, and that time has finally come! The details of it have given me a lot of laughs so far, and the story and cover were pretty much perfectly designed for gorgeous photos.

I feel like she captures the flowing, free spirit of Rosa very well here; and the iconic yellow dress!

And cue admiration for the perfectly matching flowers and book covers. A perfect color scheme is worth drooling over! 😍

And of course, the underwater-effect for one. It HAD to happen.

Slay

Ohhhhh, man. I knew this one was going to hit hard from when I first saw it being promoted last spring. Aaaaand I was right. Fantastically done!!

A great basic combo of what this book is about.

Easily my favorite, because they have some of the cards from the game!!! I spent so much of this book wishing I could play this game for real, and here’s a tiny part of it created.

I like this one primarily for the alternate cover to the one I know. I prefer this one, honestly, because it feels more mature and reflective of Kiera’s character. Plus, the tagline!

And, as always, a good color balance photo. ^.^

And so…

One completed, one in progress. Both surprisingly photogenic! Thanks to everyone who puts their time not only into writing and reading these fantastic stories, but into creating new shareable art for everyone inspired by them. ✊🏽
