As I’m finally reading The Library of the Unwritten, I have to acknowledge that it’s very different than I expected when I was writing this post about what I was looking forward to with it. That said, it’s still quite good and I’ve been really enjoying it! It’s a lot less dark and a lot more humorous than I anticipated, which I’m okay with because laughing is my favorite. I’ve definitely had some out-loud guffaws draw attention on the train.
My favorite aspects of this so far are the cleverly created systems of how things work: how to get between Hell realms, Paradise realms, and mortal realms; how unwritten books behave and what can be done to them and their characters; and how angelic and demonic forces might interact while chatting over a pint in Valhalla.
